Our little turkey :)

Henry was 3 weeks old yesterday and things are going great! He is still eating about every 2-3 hours both night and day, but he is really alert during the day now- He is starting to focus a little more on objects and people when they walk by or talk to him :) He also lost all of his umbilical cord tonight- It's kinda sad, our little boy is growing up!! :) Riley is still doing really well with him and loves having grandma around (either one, they give him attention :)

The only difficulty we have at this point, is trying not to get him to pee on us every time we change his diaper.... It's pretty hard to clean up a baby, a dresser, and yourself at 3:00 in the morning :) (and 5:00 and 7:00.......) We are determined to master it somehow!! :)

Henry and dad are ready for the OU/Texas Tech game!

Our friend Sarah came down this weekend to meet Henry! It has been so nice having her- we haven't seen her since Brian's graduation. We were able to take our first family pic. (outside of the hospital pictures:) The other pictures are from this week- He is still eating alot, but starting to lose the baby fat (or swelling) in his face- he is looking more like a little person! It's so weird that after such a long wait, he is here for us to finally look at :)

2 Weeks Old!

Today Henry is 2 weeks old already!! How time flies! He had his first doctors appointment and everything went great- He is already almost 10lbs!! He weighed 9lbs 15oz and was 21 1/2 inches long- He is really growing fast- He is such an angel- He almost never fusses and is starting to smile at everyone :) He eats about every 3-4 hours during the day, and about every 2 hours during the night (o, how I wish those were switched!!) But, how can you complain- We just love him so much! Daddy went back to work on Monday so we are just hanging out with Nan naw (Brian's mom) until Friday and then we get to see our friend Sarahand then Maw maw (my mom) comes on Tuesday for Thanksgiving! We are having so much fun with everyone- Having a baby was a great way to get our family and friends to come visit us :)

.....the jaundice is gone!!

Henry is a little over 1 week old and his jaundice is gone!! Thank goodness! We were having to take him to the Dr. every other day and they kept taking blood from his feet- poor baby! Yesterday we went back and they said it was gone! They also want babies to be back up to their birth weight by their 2 week appt. (which is Wed.) He had gone down from 8lbs 14oz at birth to 8lbs 2oz at his 2 day appt., and yesterday he was already up to 9lbs 1oz!! At only 1 week he has already passed his birth weight- unbelievable! He is a growing boy, which I expected from feeding him all day long! :) He changes everyday and we can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

So right before Henry was born, we bought this monkey for Riley so he could have a new toy when the baby came home. For some reason, he has destroyed it! He started one leg at a time and then went to the eyes- We have no idea why?! He has never done this to one of his toys before...its pretty funny! He has been sooo good with Henry! He is very gentle and doesn't bark at all. He loves to lay next to him when he is sleeping, and the other day he came and got me when he started to fuss! He has done sooo much better than we ever thought he would! We are so lucky!

Well we have a few new pics and so I thought I would update everyone (anyone who wants to know:) on how everything went and is going- I went in Monday night at around 9:30 to be induced, and as soon as we got into our hospital room I started having contractions on my own! How crazy! So they didn't use any medicine and decided to hook me up to the monitor and let me contract on my own. The contractions got pretty hard pretty fast and so they decided to help the process with pitocin- it really made the contractions come quickly- The problem was I wasn't having a break in between contractions, for some reason, the pain just stayed consistant. At this point the doctor decided to give me the epidural. It worked for a few hours and then everything went bad :( For some reason, the epidural completely wore off and when they tried to give me more of the medicine, it just got worse. They tried injections through the I.V. and through the epidural and nothing worked. After about 6 hours they decided to redo the epidural with another anesthesiologist (sp?). This time it didn't even work for a minute. The pain got increasingly worse and they tried every sort of medicine they could think of- nothing worked. I continued to labor for 28 hours before he decided to arive!! So, with no epidural and no rest, our little boy arrived Wednesday morning at around 2:24am. What a journey!!! The more I look at him the more in love I am- Its amazing how there is someone who you have never seen before and the moment you come in contact with them your heart goes crazy- I just can't get enough of him :) He is our little prince and we couln't be happier! He does cry alot and is having problems eating, so please keep us in your prayers- It's a whole new adventure and we are just trying to figure everything out. He has completely changed our world!!

We made it!

Well this is the last picture of just the 2 of us :) We are going to the hospital tonight and should have a baby by tomorrow!! I thought we should take a picture, because this is finally as big as I will get!! We are so excited and thank everyone in advance for their prayers..we couldn't get through it without our friends and family. Brian and I are on our way to eat (our last date:) and our families are on their way- they should be here about the time we finish eating. We are ready to see everyone- especially our baby boy! Hopefully our next post will be pictures of Henry! Can't wait!
